Star Sponsors

SEED - Griffith University

Griffith University is adapting to the music industry of today's world where artists are producing themselves more and more, where traditional labels are on the decline, where online promotion has never been easier and competition is increased as a result. SEED is a compilation album featuring original music from their Bachelor of Popular Music students. Many are already forging their way in the Australian industry, with many touring the country regularly and releasing debut EPs.

So much talent comes through the SEED program and this year we’ll be showcasing an enormous amount of Gold Coast’s emerging talent! Exciting times ahead!

Find out more on the Popular Music program here:

NightQuarter features night markets, micro-restaurants, emerging fashion and a unique live music space, featuring over 120 speciality food purveyors, designers, musicians and craftspeople within a shipping container city.

It makes total sense that owners Ian and Michelle have jumped onboard as STAR sponsors of our cultural playground and if you love being served a drink with your live entertainment, our NEW NIGHTQUARTER BAR has got you covered!

If you haven't been to NightQuarter in Helensvale, do yourself a favour! It's a festival every weekend!

Check them out!

Gold Coast Barges

They barged on in to BBTC15 and brought our first ever water stage alive with their country music showdown!

This year they're coming back, but instead of music we've got SPENT BMX'er and his crew ready to hit the half-pipe water borne!

A heartfelt thankyou to Greg, Tracy and family for hearing our grand plans and having the same belief that 'anything's possible'!

They'll also be performing again ... circle "The Bridge" on the event program!

Connecting Southern Gold Coast

Peter Doggett and the team at Connecting Southern Gold Coast have come onboard in 2015 after the success of our inaugural event.

We would like to thank them for their valuable contribution, which will assist towards the high costs involved. Twelve months planning goes into our event and without the support of our Council entities, a free entry system would not be possible.

Queensland Government

It took our team 15 months and a contribution of personal funds to bring everyone the first BBTC. In order to continue to bring you a FREE cultural weekend, it is imperative that we continue to source sponsors and support funds from various Council and Government bodies.

This year we were lucky enough to be granted funding from the Office of Liquor and Gambling Regulation, which will contribute to a percentage of festival costs. Receiving this approval documentation in the mail was music to our ears and has certainly taken a load of stress off our team.

Our mission has always been to remove the economic barrier so anyone and everyone can enjoy culture and the arts .... thanks Queensland Government, you've made it even more possible this year!

Gold Coast City Council

With a celebrated success first year, the 'approved' box was ticked immediately on application for BBTC15!

Thank you again to the Andrea and the Major Events Team and Cr Chris Robbins for your ongoing support! The approval of the park grounds and supply of extra festival amenities is appreciated, as is the financial contribution to cover our public liability insurance and reporting costs.

Major Look Creations

We commissioned Paul from Major Look Creations to illustrate this year's festival face and we believe the illustration displays our creative playground to a T! Paul was also the creative behind our inaugural festival's artwork which we will always hold close to our hearts!

Paul has also been extremely patient whilst working with our crew to finalise print ready poster artwork, whilst juggling new dad duties, study and family life.

You're a LEGEND Paul, thank you!

Gold Coast Graphic Design

They were behind our website banners and program since our inaugural festival in '14 and the amazing team have once again taken on the massive task for '16!

Designer Lindsay's been working closely with our Event Director, Cindy to bring a new look to life for 2016. BBTC paraphernalia will be plastered everywhere in the weeks leading up .... you won't miss it!

We thank Director, Kelly for taking on our community project as a love job and we want you to know you're a SUPER STAR!

The Kitchens

You’ll see The Kitchen’s little piaggio on-ground at BBTC16, the team promoting their new dining, entertainment and unique shopping space within Robina Town Centre.

We’re stoked they’ve also come on-board as a talent sponsor this year and we can’t wait to see some of our amazing talent performing within the centre in the coming months.

A massive thank you goes out to the whole team, your support of our local talent is appreciated!

We have partnered with Currumbin RSL and two of our performers will be entertaining in-venue on Saturday 15th October as part of their 'Deck Acoustics' program from 12pm. Artists to be announced.

The carpark will be open from 10am to 6pm. Look out for the 'BUSK STOP' sign!

A massive thanks to Laura and the team for their ongoing support!

Spent is about being driven. They're a lifestyle brand, driven by feeling.

How do you think they felt when we contacted them with our dream to have BMX showcases on a floating half pipe?! Let's just say they were super supportive of our craziness!

These guys ooze style and determination and this year their sponsored celebrity rider, Chris James and team will be shredding it out on the water! It's gearing up to be a spectacle like no other!

Gold Coast Tipis

Unique theming of our festival is an extremely important factor, as we aim to create individual spaces and worlds to bring a sense of the unexpected to all visiting.

A massive shout out to our local Burleigh family Benn, Hannah and little Lennox who will be bringing their touch of luxe again to BBTC16. But twice as much luxe!

If you're looking to add a touch of class to any of your events, these guys are THE BEST!

Muchas Gracias! We can't wait for some tipi hashtag moments #bbtctipiworld

Owner Nils will be ferrying the SPENT BMX riders across to our floating half-pipe and he'll have an office set up under the trees for anyone wanting to drop in and say g'day in a not-so-traditional setting!

Thanks guys for jumping onboard again in support of your backyard event!

Lovestreet Studios

'Katie Who' took out our "Battle of the Buskers" Totally Talented title last year, which included session recording and mixing with the Number 1 studio on the coast!

Barry and Scott are once again our main sponsor of the Saturday night event and we can't wait to see who gets the winning ticket to record.

'Battle of the Buskers' will be held at Currumbin Creek Tavern on Saturday 17th October from 7pm. It's definitely a live music showdown not to be missed!

Not only are they one of our beloved media partners, BlankGC have offered a media package to the act who takes out our Battle of the Buskers!

Our battle is scheduled for kick off at the Currumbin Creek Tavern on Friday 14th October from 7.30pm. It's one of our favourite 'Side Street' events that's been running since 2014, with past battlers Katie Who and The Scrimshaw Four making it into our winner's wall of fame!

BlankGC is our City's cultural voice!

Kitty Kitty Bang Bang

Kitty Kitty Bang Bang is amped to power-up the winner of 2016 Battle of the Buskers with a $2500 Strategic Planning & Publicity Campaign.

Kitty Kitty Bang Bang focuses on planning and implementing release strategies that will generate quality media coverage to build anticipation and demand for the winner’s newly recorded songs from Love Street Studios.

Kylie is a media and marketing guru and we're stoked she's jumped onboard to help see our winner jump to that next level!

Byron Bay Bluesfest Busking

The winner of our 'Battle of the Buskers' not only walks away with cash and a recording package, they also get granted a free ride ticket straight to the grand final of the prestigious Bluesfest Busking competition!

When we approached organiser Anita Collenbrander, she was delighted to collaborate and we couldn't believe her enthusiasm from the onset! This wonder woman knows all there is to know about busking, so we've also signed her to the judging panel of our Battle!

Their Bluesfest Busking 2014 winner, Grizzlee Train are also booked to play our main stage! These guys were snapped up for Kasey Chambers' American tour and we recommend you park up and see them light the stage!

The girls at BlankGC recently made our Event Director a cover-girl, another addition to the long list of the magazine's #BBTC inclusions. We're extremely grateful for their continued coverage and for being voice to our story!

As like 2014 and 2015, they've again offered a feature article and ongoing editorial support for our "Battle of the Buskers" winner.

Greenfest Solutions

Does anyone think of the waste that's accumulated over the two days and who's hard at work behind the scenes cleaning the toilet and bin facilities? It's been Cindy's dad the last two years but this year thanks to Diana Hartung, he can put his feet up and enjoy the show!

Diana will be kitting out our head volunteer Tim and his team with the gear and equipment needed to keep our green clean!
